The World Health Organization is pointing out that smoking is on the rise in the world as more and more countries develop. The young in these countries are able to afford to buy cigarettes for the first time and are getting addicted.
While smoking is down in many of the developed countries, more and more tobacco companies are finding that the new, unregulated markets are ripe for the seizing. The World Health Organization believes that it is the responsibility of these countries to educate their population about the dangers of smoking.
There are many that are coming forward to explain that one of the reasons why smoking is on the rise in newly developing countries is that these countries do not have the money to throw behind anti-smoking campaigns. They point out that these counties do not have anti-smoking regulations as a very important issue as their countries strive to compete in the world market.

The World health organization is pointing out that there are currently 5.4 million people a year that die from smoking in the world. The Organization believes that this number will grow to 8.3 million within the next twenty years.
